The Hello Goodbye Show

[Repeated from Saturday 12pm.] Upbeat, eclectic live music show hosted by deXter Bentley. This week: a stripped down live session from two members of the long standing post-punk/cow-punk legends The Mekons. Featuring Sally Timms (voice and shruti box) and Susie Honeyman (voice, violin and piano) performing under the flexible moniker Mini-Mekons, ahead of a full band appearance at The Garage in Highbury, London, on 23rd October. Formed in Leeds in 1976 as a punk-era art collective, The Mekons remain prolific, vital and sharply relevant 50 years later. Also, solo artist Kowa Axis (aka James Barry) performs a debut live session on the show with his electric guitar and a sea of effects pedals to hand (and foot). Expect an improvised wall of noise  closely informed by his early love of 'metal' music. Visit hellogoodbyeshow.com for more information.
