Arty Facts

[Repeated from Sunday 1.30pm.] Arty Facts with Master J is a show about working in the arts. Today, Master J is joined by Karen Holmes – currently playing the lead role of Chris in the touring production of Calendar Girls – for a special outside broadcast recorded in a Scarborough Wetherspoons. The pair look back at the show's press night, the after-show party and the speeches. The conversation takes a combative turn as Master J challenges Karen's claim that she doesn't care about reviews. After a disagreement over exactly what Tim Firth (who wrote the musical with Gary Barlow) said in his after-show speech, we let listeners hear the speech and settle that argument. We'll also hear what it was like for Karen to meet the woman she's portraying on stage, and what was said. Expect the usual bickering, bantering and blooming awkwardnesses.
