[Repeated from Friday 11am.] A weekly show hosted by urbanist Donald Hyslop. This week: Soundcheck - Episode One. A series featuring artists, musicians and creative entrepreneurs working in Turkey. The programmes reflect the dislocation of Syrians from their homeland during the civil war and the influence, dialogues, and fusions of form this has created in southern Turkey and Istanbul. In the first episode we meet Serkan Hakki, clarinetist, music producer and director. He talks about his In the Studio project which brings together a diverse array of musicians to a studio setting in Istanbul. Performing live they create a unique and intimate experience with a small audience, listening through headphones, experiencing music of the highest quality. Later in the series we will hear from Serkhan again featuring his personal story and music. Soundcheck is a partnership between Resonance FM, Rozana Radio, Kopru and the British Council Creative Collaborations programme.
