Vince Aletti's Dirty Disco. A Dirty Soup commission of Samuel Shelton Robinson: Vince Aletti, renowned former Rolling Stone writer, notable for being the first person to document Disco for the magazine, and a senior editor at New York’s 'Village Voice' for almost 20 years, selects his favourite Disco tracks and speaks about what makes them special. Aletti reveals the depth of Disco’s message, and suggests its musical innovations were never truly appreciated at the time.

Across 13 episodes, he covers five strains of film music: Electronic Soundscapes; Big Beat Jive; Hard Rock Freak-Out; Funked-Up Grooves; and Atomic Atonality. In all cases, great tracks that speak for themselves!

A double bill of Mobile Radio's overview of independent and not-for-profit community, 'free', campus, and other radio stations which provide a wealth of material and perspectives outside of the mainstream media orthodoxy. This series constitutes a major retrospective of the work of the radio art network Radia, whose collective mission is to make radio that transcends the borders and boundaries of land and language. Mobile Radio visits each station in turn to discern their motives and inspirations, and explore the work of one of their associated artists. In this episode they speak to Max Höfler and Johannes Raggam of Radio Helsinki in Graz, Austria. Radiaphiles is part of a commission for documenta 14, and will be aired in Kassel and Berlin from 17 June to 7 July 2017. For more information visit mobile-radio.net.
