The Free Universtiy of Colour Out Of Space
The Free University of Colour Out Of Space takes place on Friday 26 April 2019, 12pm to 6pm, at Phoenix Brighton, 10-14 Waterloo Place, Brighton BN2 9NB. And it's FREE. It's a day of talks organised by Resonance FM's Ed Baxter. Ed has lectured at London College of Communication, Ravensbourne, University of Brighton, and internationally. He was a BASCA Composer of the Year in 2013. He's written for The Wire, Variant, and The Guardian. And he organised the epochal Annual Festival of Experimental Music for London Musicians' Collective from 1991 to 2005. He has a PhD. He'll be joined by a variety of guest speakers to offer a crash course in current thinking about music, sound and noise. Talks will start on the hour and each will last 50 minutes. Bring a notebook, pen, and an open mind. You're not expected to do more than listen so don't be afraid that it might involve group participation, it's not a workshop. The entire day will be recorded and broadcast on Resonance FM and archived on Mixcloud so you do not even have to take notes.
Please register via Eventbrite so we can plan ahead. Or simply turn up on the day.
Colour Out Of Space runs the entire weekend, 26 to 28 April. Full details here.
